Open your archive in three steps
- Choose the .7z file. Keep all split volumes together if your download came in parts.
- Let the local engine inspect the archive, then select the files to save.
- Download the extracted entries. Use a desktop archiver if the browser reports an unsupported method or memory limit.
Why a small 7Z file can need more memory
7Z can use solid compression, where several files share a compressed block. Extracting one entry may require decoding more of that block first. The archive size alone does not predict how much memory extraction will need.
ZIP and 7Z are different formats
Changing a .7z extension to .zip does not convert its contents. To make a ZIP, extract the entries first and package the resulting files with the Compress tab. Keep the original until you have checked the new archive.
Local processing, practical limits
Selected files and archive passwords stay on your device. Browser memory, archive size and compression method affect what can be processed. The tool shows its current limits and reports unsupported or unsafe archives. Use a desktop archiver for large backups, multipart sets or filesystem metadata that must be restored exactly.
