Conversion means extracting and repackaging

RAR and ZIP use different archive structures. Conversion reads the files out of the RAR and writes them into a new ZIP. Renaming the extension cannot perform this operation, and the new ZIP may be larger than the original.

Your converted ZIP is not password-protected

The RAR to ZIP converter keeps selected regular-file bytes and safe relative paths, but does not preserve archive comments, ownership or special entries. Its output is an unencrypted ZIP. For password protection, download the files and create another ZIP with a password.
