# unziper

> Free browser tools to open archives, inspect their contents, download selected files and create ZIP files. Selected files and archive passwords are processed on your device without being uploaded to unziper.net.

The tools require a current browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly. They support ZIP and common RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2 and ISO archives, subject to format and compression-method compatibility. No account is required.

Input is limited to 1 GB. ZIP creation accepts up to 5,000 individual files; extraction accepts up to 5,000 archive entries. Extracted files are limited to 256 MB each and 512 MB in total. Browser memory may impose lower limits, especially on phones. Split archives and encrypted RAR or 7Z files are not supported. Password-protected ZIP files require the correct password; forgotten passwords cannot be recovered.

ZIP creation accepts individual files and offers optional password protection. It does not import whole folder trees or guarantee smaller files. ZIP downloads made from all or selected archive contents, including RAR-to-ZIP conversion, are unencrypted even when the source ZIP is encrypted. Individual downloads do not restore all filesystem metadata. ISO extraction does not mount, run or boot a disc image.
